The unexpected effects of disasters can have profound impacts on businesses both in the short and long term. In particular, businesses with fragile structures such as SMEs are more sensitive to such possibilities. The ‘Disaster Awareness and Management for SMEs’ training, developed in cooperation with UPS Foundation, US Chamber of Commerce Foundation, World Economic Forum, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye and IDEMA within the scope of the Sağlam KOBI Project, which supports the disaster preparedness, resilience and business continuity capacities of SMEs, aims to provide businesses with the knowledge and skills required to increase their resilience against disasters and to ensure that they can respond effectively to these processes. With this programme, businesses not only gain awareness against disasters, but also take important steps towards minimising potential damages by developing an effective crisis management plan.
Expert Trainer: The training is given by an expert trainer with national and international experience in disaster management and resilience.
Comprehensive Modules: Modules covering various topics from disaster awareness to crisis management, from risk reduction to sustainable development goals are offered.
Up-to-date Content: National legislation, international standards and good practice examples related to disaster and business management are emphasised.
Practical Applications: Participants can carry out applied studies by combining theoretical knowledge with practical solution methods.
Programme Objectives At the end of this training programme, participants will gain the following knowledge and competencies:
Certificate of Participation Participants who are successful in the exam at the end of the training will be entitled to receive a certificate of participation. It is obligatory to pass the 70% threshold from the end-of-training exam. Participants will be given 3 rights for the end-of-training exam. Participants who are not successful in all 3 rights can complete the training from the beginning and repeat the exam.
